Sorry I flaked on your question.

No, I haven't listened to it yet.

Flaming Lips might be my favorite band of all time (well, in the top 10) still rarified air. Up until recent albums, I had every LP and EP they ever made on Vinyl. The only glaring absence is Hit to Death, which was a pressing of about 200 only released in Germany. Had a chance 10 years ago to get a copy for $250 but couldn't justify the expense. Now I can't find it for any cost.

Ever do a Zaireeka party? ALWAYS a good time!

I'd heard of them, but hadn't actually heard anything until a friend sent me that link yesterday. What else would you recommend?

****.

I wrote a three paragraph critique of Ladytron's finest work, including links and suggestions. I went to lunch before I was finished and evidently so did my post. My computer had restarted since I left. I think someone came around and nuked it.

So I'll just leave it at this. Listen to the entire album Witching Hour. If it doesn't make you want to make out with a waifish goth girl (or boy) on an underground dance floor somewhere, well, you're not me.

Standout track from that album is this Destroy Everything You Touch. But it works best as a cornerstone of an entire album that makes you (me) want to ****.

And my introduction to them in 2003? I don't know the year exactly, but it's been a while.

EDIT - wait until it beefs up. REALLY cool transition. Sounded revolutionary at the time.

It's always fascinating when someone introduces you to a band during the 12th year of existence. I'm always left wondering how the hell hadn't I heard this sooner.

Thanks for getting me up to speed, dude.

I think Ladytron's music is holding up better than their New York dark lord counterparts Interpol.

But then, I still really love Interpol.

And in the spirit of the Ladytron/Interpol comparison, I need to compare and contrast the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Phenomena with Tool's Sober:
